About us
Maxi-Jazz Dance Studio was established in 1987 by Maxine Johnson.

What started out as a jazz only dance school, now offers over 8 different styles of dance including ballroom, latin american and new vogue.

Other styles include modern and funky jazz, tap, ballet, contempry, cheerleading, hip hop, musical theatre, modern and funky jazz, tap, ballet and contemporary,

We have over 180 students ranging in age from 2 years to over 70, with both males and females, and beginners to advanced.

Maxine Johnson is the senior coach of all ballroom, latin and new vogue, and is fully accredited by Dancesport Australia, and fully qualified to coach and adjudicate in this sport.

Her instuctors have all competed successfully in Dancesport competitions and most are currently competing at state and national levels.

Ylanda Johnson, Maxine’s daughter, has in the past few years taken over the jazz side of the school, as the demand for ballroom continues to grow.

Ylanda has been dancing for over 21 years and is a trained dancer and teacher in jazz, tap, ballet, contempory, hip hop, cheerleading, ballroom, latin and new vogue.
